Instrument Cluster Assembly Molds
We built three separate molds for Delphi to produce the parts of this instrument cluster assembly
for Volkswagen automobiles.
- We constructed custom molds for each part, each with its own particular specifications
and internal components
- A variety of plastic compounds were used, depending on the function
or location of the part

- Front cover made from polycarbonate:
- Part has a show surface with very high polish
- Mold has a #1 finish in the steel (mirror finish)
- Vent cover made from less expensive ABS resin; part not visible to
consumer
- Support structure has several cores that create ribbing
approximately an inch deep
