Injection Molded Power Distribution Box: Upper Housing (Fuse Panel)
The mold we built for this power distribution box upper housing fuse
panel for a mid-size SUV program mates with the lower housing. The part is molded with a
high-flow grade of Noryl, a material formulated especially for parts of
this nature so the material will flow and fill the very thin ribs.
The Class A high production precision mold for this part has:
Latch straps that snap into and engage on the latches formed by the
lifters on the lower housing
A side ejection
Areas for fuses to snap into
Intricate steel standing up on the A side of the tool sealing off on the
B side
Inserts in B side
Splits to allow venting of the ribs so they will fill properly
Ejector bosses on B side of tool aligned with the thin ribs to
aid in ejection
